FAQs
Can I claim a naturopath on private health insurance in Australia?
Yes, some extras policies cover naturopathy, but it depends on your health fund and whether the practitioner meets their requirements, like ours do.
Which health funds cover naturopathy?
There is no fixed list, as coverage is changing often since it’s been reinstated in April 2025. The best option is to check directly with your fund or review:

Can I claim Telehealth naturopathy?
Sometimes. Some funds allow Telehealth claims if the consultation meets their criteria and the practitioner is eligible. Western herbal medicine is frequently not covered, but naturopathy is likely covered.
Is naturopathy covered by Medicare?
No—naturopathy is not covered by Medicare in Australia.
What do I need to claim?
An itemised digital receipt
A practitioner registered with a recognised association
Appropriate extras cover
Are all naturopaths covered by private health insurance extras?
Most should be but there’s some additional paperwork to complete to enable claiming.
Since 1st April 2026, when naturopathy was reinstated and updated guidelines released, our naturopaths have been working on submitting the paperwork. They are fully qualified and eligible but every naturopath now has additional hoops to jump through with this exciting change.
Appointments available in Moonee Ponds or online.
