QEEG Reports

What's a QEEG Functional Brain Scan?

Quantitive Electroencephalogram (QEEG) look at the electrical brainwaves like delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma. Quantitative means to measure rather than just look at it. With QEEG, we look at specific variables to answer questions like:

  • How well connected or disconnected is the brain?

  • Like goldilocks, is it too fast, too slow or just right for your age?

QEEGs are used for education to learn about your brain but also to formulate treatment plans for neurofeedback brain training or exercises to target specific areas of the brain. They are not used to make diagnoses.

QEEG Reports

To make QEEGs more accessible to everyone, we offer a range of report options.

Brief QEEG Report

This involves a single analysis which compares your brain activity with that of a normative database of healthy brains. There's no written analysis provided with this but rather verbally at your next appointment, we'd explain what you are looking at.

Please note that these images are taken from the internet to avoid sharing private details. The red indicates brain activity that is in the top 0.1% of the population. In this example, there's no blue but this would represent decreased brain activity compared to age-matched, healthy controls.

Standard Report

A standard report involves several analysis. It involves the same as the brief report plus more analysis. This is again just a pictorial report without written explanation with the report explained verbally at your next appointment.

This type of report is sufficient for 2-3 point neurofeedback and neuro-rehabilitation.

Detailed Report

This is an extensive report that includes the above plus further 3D localisation analysis and a written explanation.

This type of report is required before doing full-scalp neurofeedback. Please note that we do offer other forms of neurofeedback training 2-3 points at a time, rather than the full head.
