Online Neuro-Rehabilitation

28 March, 2020

Dizziness doesn't stop just because the world has.

Chronic pain doesn't have a schedule.

Concussions can occur at any time.

We understand this so we offer neurological rehabilitation from the comfort of your home or office.

What can be done in a Neuro-Rehabilitation Telehealth consultation?

You'll get the same great service that you would expect in a face to face consultation!

Learn about You We dive into what's causing you grief - how is it affecting your life and what do you want to be able to do again? If this is your first consultation, we'll also find out about your past & current health as well as lifestyle factors that affect your health.
Play Detective Via video, we assess your balance, movement control & coordination and eye & vestibular reflexes. We can get a lot of information!
Formulate & Implement Plan Our thorough assessment means we can hone in on your issues. We come up with a plan together that you feel confident you can achieve. This involves home exercises that we guide you through. We may also suggest sleep, exercise, diet and supplement advice to assist your recovery.

Can you get enough information with online video consultations?

Yes. While it would be great to see everyone in person, it's not always practical. Some people live interstate or across Victoria. Others are stuck in isolation or too unwell to travel.

We can get a lot of information just by watching your posture and movement. On top of that, we can do specific tests.

These may include:

  • Watching your eyes move from side to side and up and down
  • Seeing if you can keep your eyes stable
  • Testing primitive reflexes to see if they are present or not
  • Standing with your feet together or on one leg
  • Performing coordination exercises
  • Challenging you with two tasks at once
  • Assessing your inner eyes (vestibular system) with specific movements

How do I organise a Neuro-Rehabilitation Telehealth appointment?

Book online or contact us.

We'll then advice you how to prepare for the consultation.

More details can be found here.

What do I need for an online neuro-rehabilitation consultation?

Be sure to be in a comfortable space in clothes that you can freely move about in. We may ask you to stand on one foot or touch your toes.

Make sure the lighting is good enough that your eyes and face can be clearly seen on your camera.

Ideally, we prefer a plain background behind your device. Neurological examinations look for subtle movements - a complex background can confuse your brain where to focus.
