Worksafe Claims

Have you been injured at work? Firstly, this is upsetting to hear. But if you have a work-related injury or illness, you may be entitled to be compensated for the cost of your treatment. That's where we come in.

The claims process is different depending on what it is you are claiming for. Who can you see? Do you need a referral? How do claims work? That's what we'll discuss today.

Who can you see under Worksafe?

Referrals

No referral required for Chiropractic care

You do not require a referral to get help from your Worksafe Chiropractor. In fact, Worksafe encourage you to seek treatment straight away to help your recovery.

Your Chiropractor can also refer you for aids, equipment, household help and rehab programs such as at the gym, pool or an exercise physiologist.

How to get a referral

Referrals are required for Acupuncture, Dietetics and Naturopathy.

Your medical doctor, like your GP or specialist, and your Worksafe Agent both need to refer you for these services.

How to make a claim?

If you have been injured in your workplace and you have made a claim, you can have your medical expenses reimbursed.

When you have booked your appointment, remember to bring along all your paperwork that your Worksafe agent has provided you with. Like your claim number.

Can you get treatment before your claim is accepted?

Worksafe recommend you get treatment straight away. This avoids prolonging your pain and stress and gets you back on track as fast as possible.

Costs can be reimbursed later if your claim is accepted.

Payment

On the day of your consultation, you will pay for your treatment. Following this, we will give you a receipt with all the details you require to be reimbursed by your agent. Worksafe will reimburse straight into your bank account.

How much is covered?

Worksafe will pay for any reasonable costs. Most of the time that means Worksafe pays for most of your consultation fees. This will leave you with a small out of pocket expense. As we take so much time on your first consultations, you'll be a little more out of pocket for that one visit.

Unfortunately you cannot use private health insurance, medicare or any other funding to pay for the out of pocket expense.
