Lockdown 6.2

Lockdown 6.2: Severe Restrictions in Place

Can I see my Chiropractor or Acupuncturist during the Severe Restrictions?

Maybe. You can but only for if urgently required. For 'tune up' appointments, these need to be rescheduled until after lockdown.

Appointments will remain spaced out to reduce crossover of patients in the clinic. We are also maintaining our strict infection control measures.

What is deemed 'urgent' chiropractic or acupuncture?

Under lockdown 6.2 restrictions, you are only permitted to have hands on treatment if the absence or delay of treatment would result in a significant deterioration or change in your functional independence. This change would be great enough that you'd seek care from your GP, hospital or another service or result in long term consequences.

The Department of Health has defined urgent care for allied health as:

Direct clinical care (and other clinical support activity necessary to support direct clinical care) that prevents a significant change / deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care OR is required as an adjunct to other urgent medical/surgical interventions.

For example, urgent clinical care;

  • that avoids a potential hospital admission or emergency department presentation

  • that prevents/delays the need for further specialist medical or surgical intervention

  • that prevents an increase in care needs that would necessitate additional carer supports or change in accommodation needs

  • that limits secondary complications post surgery

  • where deferral would lead to long term adverse consequences (e.g. delays to child development)

If you are unsure if you require chiropractic or acupuncture care, please reach out to your practitioner:

  • Anthony's email: Anthony@bodybraincentre.com.au

  • Tonilee's email: Tonilee@bodybraincentre.com.au

I've already have an appointment booked in, what happens now?

Our Chiropractors & Acupuncturist are going through their appointment diaries to see who is eligible for urgent care under the current strict restrictions. If eligible, we will contact you shortly to confirm your appointment. Your appointment time may change to accomodate the latest restrictions.

Those ineligible will be rescheduled until after lockdown, or if possible, rescheduled to telehealth in the instances of rehabilitation sessions. We'll be in contact with you in the next few days to reschedule. If your pain, injury or emotional needs changes prior to your appointment, and you do require care, please contact us and we can help you book in, if appropriate.

How do I make a Chiropractic or Acupuncture appointment during lockdown restrictions?

We have disabled online bookings during this time. Instead please contact our reception directly on admin@bodybraincentre.com.au. We will be closely monitoring our emails. We'll help assess your eligibility and book your appointment if eligible.

Online bookings are available for after lockdowns for all maintenance or routine care.

Help I'm out of my herbs or supplements, what can I do?

If you don't fit these criteria and you require an update in your herbs, please email your practitioner directly (emails in their practitioner profile).

Herbs & supplements will need to be paid for prior to the order being confirmed.

If you require a session to determine the best herbal prescription, then this can be performed via secure, online telehealth.

Can I get a Massage during Lockdown?

No. You cannot get a massage during strict restrictions.

If you are in severe & urgent pain, as defined above, you can see one of our Chiropractors. Our chiropractors use massage, taping, stretches and rehab as part of their treatments as well as chiropractic specific techniques. Dr Anthony also uses dry needling & cupping. Chiropractors are only available for emergency cases (as defined above).

Can I see my Naturopathy during COVID-19 lockdown?

Yes - you can have an online consultation with your naturopath, but you cannot see your Naturopath in person. Your telehealth consultation will still involve the same high level of professionalism, but from the convenience of your home. If you require herbs or supplements, Lisa will send them directly to your home.

Appointments can be booked by contacting us or online via our Virtual Clinic.

Can I keep my Dietetic appointment during COVID-19 lockdown?

Yes. You can for an online dietetic consultation. The same expert advice is given whether via secure video consultations or in person. In fact there's research (done prior to the pandemic) that backs this up!

Telehealth consultations can continue to be booked online via our virtual clinic.

Can I see my Counsellor during COVID-19 lockdown?

Yes. You can see your Counsellor for telehealth sessions only. All face to face counselling consultations have been suspended until restrictions ease.

Heart rate variability biofeedback sessions are also available via Telehealth at this time. Chantelle can continue to advise you with techniques that supplement your heart rate variability training and you can continue your HRV training with a home device. You’ll be learning skills for life.

What happens to my Hypnotherapy sessions during strict lockdowns?

All Clinical Hypnotherapy sessions will be converted to telehealth appointments at the same time.

For new hypnotherapy sessions, please email us and we'll book you in.

Can I continue Neurofeedback during these strict restrictions?

Sort of. We will send you out the equipment and train you to perform neurofeedback at home. This is still professionally monitored and the settings adjusted remotely by our senior neuro-rehab therapist, Cassie. We also will regularly check in how you are feeling and adjust your training settings appropriately, just as we would in the clinic.

If you are interested, please contact Cassie directly on Cassie@bodybraincentre.com.au.
